I wanted to provide an update regarding drug dealing / drug use, which some members around this area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the Met Engage priority survey. On TUESDAY 14TH OCTOBER 2025 as part of Operation ZORIDON and ongoing duties under CHARLTON SNT, PC LEE 1323SE prepared and executed a search warrant at a residential address in CHARLTON. PS HOYNE-BUTLER 116SE attended as the supervising officer to oversee the operation.
In the early hours of the morning police gained entry to the premises, where a male was found asleep inside. Upon entering, officers observed approximately 18 pre-rolled cannabis joints and drug paraphernalia on the living room table. The male was subsequently arrested for possession with intent to supply Class B drugs by one of the Level 2 Rapid Entry officers.
A search of the property was conducted by PC DAWKINS 1908SE, PC THELWELL 1677SE, and PC CARTWRIGHT 1130SE. During the search, officers discovered approximately 300 snap bags of cannabis concealed within the walls and the toilet cistern. Additional quantities of cannabis were located inside an air fryer and microwave.
Further items recovered included hunting knives, weighing scales, and several mobile phones, £1,000 in cash found both concealed within the walls and near the bedside cabinet.
PC SMITH 1586SE and PC IVANOVA 2041SE, both from CHARLTON SNT, assisted with the processing of the prisoner. A charge and remand application was submitted; however, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) determined that the suspect was suitable for bail with conditions, pending further investigation and a future court appearance. The SNT will work with the Local authority around the males tenancy to remove the ongoing disruption.
PCSO LAWTON 7266SE conducted high-visibility reassurance patrols in and around the CHARLTON area to provide reassurance to the local community.
ACI Alex Baldwin comments ‘This warrant shows the commitment of SNT to respond to the concerns of the local community.’
